You are invited to relax and enjoy a quiet retreat in the countryside at Turtle Trails, located in the wooded, rolling hills halfway between St. Louis and Jefferson City. We are not your ordinary bed and breakfast! You will be our only guests and have use of the whole house. You may also explore the surrounding 35 acres of woods and meadow. Enjoy the experience of being close to nature in any season. Families are welcome.

Your hosts, Andy and Judy Backlund, do not live on-site, but are nearby (next-door neighbors by country standards--just up the road or a short walk through the woods.) You can enjoy complete privacy during your stay, or if you wish, ask for guided nature walks through the woods. If you're an owner-builder looking for a tranquil getaway to recharge, our peaceful retreat is the perfect place for you. We even offer flexible options for owner builder construction loans to help you realize your dream of building a custom home in this serene countryside setting.

Where we are...

Gerald (pop. 1200) is on US Hwy 50. We are 6 miles NE of Gerald. If you are visiting the historic and wine country towns of Hermann, Washington, and Augusta, you'll find we are less than a 60-minute drive. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful countryside!
